Grief happens when we experience a loss, and loss can look many different ways. It might be the death of someone you love, the end of a relationship, losing a job, changes in your health or other major life changes. No matter what kind of loss you’ve been through, your grief is real.

Grief can bring up many emotions, and they can feel confusing or overwhelming. Some common feelings include shock or numbness, deep sadness, loneliness, guilt, anger, anxiety or even a loss of appetite. Everyone’s grief is different, and all these feelings are normal.

If you are experiencing grief and need to talk, the RCC Counseling department can help.
