Understanding how to manage your schedule helps you stay on track. Whether you are adjusting your plans or responding to changes in your life, Rogue Community College offers clear options to help you move forward.

Adding a Class

If a class has space available, you can add it to your schedule by registering through your myRogue student portal during the registration period and through the first week of the term. Check the Registration Schedule for specific dates and times.

If a class is full or you want to add it after the first week of the term, follow these steps:

  • Email the instructor to request a course override.
  • If approved, register yourself in myRogue through the add/drop deadline, which is Monday of week two (2).
  • Late Add/Drops are allowed only in extenuating circumstances. After the add/drop deadline, email registrarFREERogue%20Community%20College to discuss your options.
  • Include your name, RCC student ID and the course and section numbers.

Registration deadlines:

  • Summer term: Thursday of the first week.
  • Fall, winter and spring terms: Friday of the first week.

Non-Attendance Drop

You may be dropped for non-attendance if you do not participate early in the term.

  • In-person or Zoom classes: You may be dropped if you attend less than 50% of class sessions during the first week.
  • Online classes: You may be dropped if you do not submit an assignment by Wednesday of the first week.

This policy:

  • Applies only to students registered before the first day of the term.
  • Does not apply to late-start or non-credit classes.

If you are dropped for non-attendance, a 100% tuition refund is applied to your account.

Important: This process does not replace your responsibility to officially drop or withdraw from classes, especially those that start at irregular times.

If you cannot attend the first session, contact your instructor before the class meets to reduce the risk of being dropped.

Official Drop or Withdrawal from Classes

You can officially drop a class online through myRogue until the drop deadline listed in the Academic Calendar.

When you officially drop:

  • You receive a full refund.
  • The class does not appear on your transcript.

You may withdraw from a class starting the second Tuesday of the term through:

  • The eighth Friday of fall, winter and spring terms.
  • The fifth Thursday of summer term.

When you withdraw:

  • No refund is issued.
  • A grade of W appears on your transcript.
  • The date you withdraw online becomes your official last date of attendance.

You may withdraw from a class in myRogue or by emailing the Registrar’s Office at registrarFREERogue%20Community%20College if you need help.

All drop and withdrawal dates are recorded in the RCC Student Information System.

Unofficial Withdrawal from Classes

If you stop attending but do not officially drop or withdraw, you will receive the grade that you earned based on the course syllabus.

  • If the grade is F, Incomplete or NP, the instructor records your last date of attendance.
  • In online classes, your last date of attendance is the last day you complete academic work, such as submitting an assignment or test — not the last time you logged in.

Auditing a Class

Auditing a class allows you to attend a credit course without earning credit or a grade. The course will be noted as AU on your transcript.

If you choose to audit:

  • Financial aid does not cover audited classes.
  • You should talk with your Financial Aid Advisor if you receive aid.
  • You must submit the Audit Course Request form to the Registrar’s Office by the withdraw or audit deadline.
