Limited Maintenance Electricians install, maintain and repair electrical systems in industrial and commercial settings. They work on motors, control equipment, lighting and power distribution to ensure facilities operate safely and efficiently. The Limited Maintenance Electrician Apprenticeship Program at Rogue Community College provides hands-on training and classroom instruction to prepare apprentices for careers maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems within manufacturing plants, institutions and large buildings without performing full-scale installations.
Program Highlights
The Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) Apprenticeship Program takes approximately two (2) years to complete and combines more than 4,000 hours of on-the-job training with 288 hours of classroom instruction. The program prepares apprentices to take the state licensing exam and offers multiple educational and professional opportunities, including:
- Receiving a journeyman card issued by the State of Oregon.
- Obtaining a Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license after passing the state licensing exam.
- The option to earn an Electrician Apprenticeship Technologies – Limited Certificate of Completion upon finishing the apprenticeship.
- The option to pursue an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Electrician Apprenticeship Technologies.
