Cooperative Work Experience (CWE) at Rogue Community College lets you earn college credit by working in a job related to your major, giving you real hands-on experience and practical skills. It’s a great way to get ready for your future career. 

With CWE, you can: 

  • Use what you learned in class on real-world projects. 
  • Explore different jobs to see what interests you. 
  • Build helpful job skills and gain confidence. 
  • Meet and work with local businesses.

Increase your chances of employment after graduation. 

You’ll get experience in your field, make useful connections and take important steps toward your goals.

Program Highlights

Cooperative Work Experience can be an integral part of your program of study. You’ll work with your instructor to arrange your CWE with an employer. 

  • Earn college credit for paid or unpaid on-the-job training (33 hours = 1 credit). 
  • Partner with RCC and your employer with agreed upon learning goals tied to your program.  
  • Build practical skills, strengthen your work habits and get hands‑on experience that employers want.  
  • Earn a grade based on the work you do. 
  • Find a worksite with RCC’s help. Some employers may offer paid jobs after your internship.
