Program Overview
This two-term certificate program has a strong focus on hands-on learning in the technology labs, safety and care and maintenance of machines, tool usage and tool life.
Term 1: You’ll jump right into the essentials, such as machine shop basics, CNC controls, blueprint reading, measurements and math geared specifically for CTE careers. It’s a fast, practical start that builds a strong foundation.
Term 2: You’ll learn about metals, work directly with the lathe and mill, and continue building your CNC skills. This term is all about hands-on learning to master machine interfaces, practicing single and multi-vise setups and getting the real shop experience you need to step confidently into the manufacturing job market.
Graduation Requirements
The Computer Numerical Control — CNC Operator certificate requires the completion of 30 program credits. Students must complete all courses outlined in this program with a grade of “C-” or better to earn a certificate. Students are strongly encouraged to meet with an Academic Advisor or faculty advisor before beginning any coursework.
